Dr. John McPhilemy is the program director of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine orthopedic residency program. Beyond being an important part of the Philadelphia ortho scene (and previous team doc for the 76ers), he has played a major role in the DO ortho world.  He has trained many generations of great orthopedic surgeons, many of whom have gone on to become program directors themselves.  After all these years, his passion is still educating the next generation.  Dr. McPhilemy and I discuss the importance of away rotations for the right “fit”, his thoughts on choosing where to train, and how perspective is everything
