Nothing in medical school quite prepares you for orthopedic rotations. Get a jump start with this course which covers high yield topics for students and tips on how to maximize your rotation performance.
We designed this curriculum with the ortho auditioning student in mind. At WCC we firmly believe that subinternship rotations are for learning and developing relationships. To do that well, a basic foundation of ortho knowledge is required. Most of the resources out there are geared towards residents and there is A LOT of information that can get overwhelming very quickly, which leads to inefficient use of your very limited time and resources.
These lesson plan is a collection of the lectures I wish I could give every rotating student throughout the audition season. In the realities of a busy orthopedic service, there’s just never enough time. The course condenses these lectures into 17 modules you can access at your convenience.
Here are what some of our previous students have said about the Ortho Jump Start Course:
“The Trauma section was my favorite. I was told by many to “just memorize handbook”. There is tons of information in there, and way too little time. I was very confused by classifications and which to know, which could wait on memorizing. It helped to have a good break down of what you need to know, at least at the level of a student. How to read an xray is a close second.”
“This resource seems invaluable for medical students on orthopedic audition rotations. I will be recommending this to all my friends auditioning for Ortho.”
Our goal with this course is to provide a solid foundation of orthopedic knowledge focused on high yield areas for students. While this course is by no means an exhaustive list of all the pimp questions you’ll be asked on rotations it is the perfect jump start to your orthopedic rotations.
